Sesc RJ Flamengo was defeated by Sesi Bauru in a tie-break on Thursday (16.01) and was left out of the semifinals of the Copa Brasil, a tournament that brings together the top eight teams in the Women's Superliga round. In Bauru (SP), coach Bernardinho's team tried to react, but was unable to come away with the victory: 19-25, 20-25, 27-25, 25-17 and 9-15. The Rubro-Negro's focus now is the Superliga.

Outside hitter and captain Michelle was the Rio team's top scorer in the match, with 16 points. Middle blocker Lorena, who scored 14 times, lamented the Rio team's below-par performance in the first few sets.

"It was very important to start focused, after all, the Copa Brasil is a one-game tournament. It took us a while to get into the rhythm. There's no excuse. If we had started differently, maybe the ending could have been different. But there's no point in regretting it. We'll keep working and focus on the Superliga," said Lorena.

The Rio team's next challenge takes place this Monday (20.01), at 18 pm, against Flor de Ypê Paulistano Barueri, at Maracanãzinho, for the third round of the Superliga return leg. Tickets are on sale on the Guichê Web website at the link: https://www.guicheweb.com.br/sesc-rj-flamengo-x-barueri_38184
