Sesc RJ Flamengo begins a battle against Dentil Praia Clube in search of a spot in the Women's Superliga semifinals. Bernardinho's team visits their Minas Gerais rival this Monday (April 13.04th) at 21 pm, at the Uberlândia Tênis Clube (UTC) Gymnasium, in the first match of the best-of-three series. Sportv2 and VBTV will broadcast live.

In the two times the teams faced each other in the qualifying phase of this edition, Flamengo came out on top: 3-0 at Maracanãzinho, and 3-1 in Uberlândia. This time, the Rio de Janeiro team expects more difficulties on the court and wants to show its strength to deal with the pressure from the opposing fans.

"It's a Superliga semifinal, and what's in the past doesn't matter anymore. We know how much Praia has improved, and we're prepared for a very strategic game. At the same time, we also have to highlight how much we've evolved and united to reach this stage of the championship in good condition, despite physical problems and fatigue. Now, each of us needs to give our all on every point so that we can get ahead in this series," said libero and captain Laís.

If they win, Flamengo will return to Rio de Janeiro and have the chance to decide their qualification for the Superliga grand final at home, in front of their fans at the Maracanãzinho. Tickets for the second game of the series are already on sale at the Guichê Web website.

Sesc RJ Flamengo has standout individual players in the Superliga statistics. Outside hitter Simone Lee is the competition's top scorer with 469 points, while opposite hitter Tainara is in fifth place with 348. The American player is also the top scorer in serves, with 26 aces. In attack, Lorena ranks fifth with a 50,7% success rate. 

Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the national competition in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).

The 2025/2026 Superliga began with 12 teams, who faced each other in a round-robin format. The quarterfinals brought together the top eight teams from the qualifying phase in a best-of-three playoff, and Sesc RJ Flamengo advanced by defeating Batavo Mackenzie 2-0. The semifinals are also best-of-three, while the final will be played in a single match on May 3rd at Ibirapuera, in São Paulo.
