Sesc RJ Flamengo returns to the court this Tuesday (December 09.12th) at 21:30 PM, at Hebraica, for the highly anticipated classic against Fluminense, now for the Women's Superliga. As the match is a rescheduled game from the second round of the first half of the season, coach Bernardinho's team will have played the same number of games as their opponents, with nine, and will try to climb the table in search of the lead. SporTV 2 and VBTV will broadcast live.

The only undefeated team, with eight wins, Flamengo has 22 points and is in second place, close behind Gerdau Minas, with 23. Fluminense is in sixth place with 14. But the advantage in the standings doesn't fool the players, who are used to fierce duels against their rival. The last meeting took place in the Carioca Championship final, when Sesc RJ Flamengo was crowned champion in a five-set battle at the Tijuca Tennis Club.

"Fluminense is always a very difficult opponent, with a passionate crowd at Hebraica and very experienced players, capable of overcoming unfavorable situations. Just like in the Carioca final, I expect the match to be decided by details. I believe that mental strength will be very important and we are prepared to apply everything we have studied in recent days," said setter Giovana.

Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the national competition in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).

The 2025/2026 Superliga features 12 teams, which will face each other in a home-and-away format. The quarterfinals will feature the top eight teams from the qualifying phase in a best-of-three playoff. The semifinals will also be best-of-three, while the final will be a single-game series.
