Sesc RJ Flamengo faces a major challenge away from home in the fight for the top spots in the Women's Superliga. This Friday (March 14.03), at 21:30 pm, coach Bernardinho's team hopes to put on a high-level performance against defending champion Gerdau Minas in Belo Horizonte, the first of three matches against Minas Gerais opponents in the final stretch of the qualifying phase. After two consecutive wins and sitting in fifth place with 39 points, the Rubro-Negro team is banking on tactical obedience to try to climb the standings at a crucial juncture in the championship. The teams have already met twice this season, with Sesc RJ Flamengo winning twice, once in the National Club Cup (3-0) and once in the Superliga (3-1). Minas is second with 43 points.

"We have three tough games ahead, and they'll all be equally important. It's a crucial moment in the Superliga, and our commitment to the tactical plan outlined by the coaching staff will make all the difference. Training is going strong, and the group is motivated. We've studied Minas in detail and hope to put on a great performance," said opposite hitter Edinara.

Sesc RJ Flamengo continues to stand out in the Superliga statistics. Setter Brie leads the way in serving numbers, with 21 aces. Middle blocker Lorena is the second-best blocker, with 69 points, and the fifth-most efficient in attack (46,06%). Libero Laís tops the list of best passers (69,39% efficiency), with captain Michelle in sixth (64,25%). Edinara is the sixth-highest scorer in the competition, with 280 hits. 

Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the Women's Superliga in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).

The 2024/2025 Superliga brings together 12 teams, which face each other in a home and away match, and the top eight advance to the playoffs.
