Sesc RJ Flamengo wants to start the year 2026 maintaining its winning streak in the Superliga. This Wednesday (07.01), coach Bernardinho's team faces Paulistano Barueri at 21 pm, at José Corrêa, in Barueri, with broadcast on SporTV2 and VBTV, and the objective is to remain in the lead of the competition.

With 30 points, after 11 wins in 11 games, Sesc RJ Flamengo is the only undefeated team and worked hard at the end of the year, aiming to improve their teamwork and achieve the desired growth in the second half of the season. On the other side will be the eighth-placed team, which has 12 points. Despite the difference in the standings, the athletes know that they have no easy opponent in the Superliga.

"I've been on the other side and I know that Paulistano Barueri is always a dangerous team, with young and talented girls, in addition to having a well-integrated base. We will try to serve well to neutralize some of their important plays. We've been training very hard and we're very motivated. We've become a team to be reckoned with, so we can't let our guard down for a single minute," analyzes opposite hitter Tainara.

Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the national competition in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).

The 2025/2026 Superliga features 12 teams, which will face each other in a home-and-away format. The quarterfinals will feature the top eight teams from the qualifying phase in a best-of-three playoff. The semifinals will also be best-of-three, while the final will be a single-game series.
