Sesc RJ Flamengo heads into another head-to-head clash for the top spots in the Women's Superliga. In second place with 16 points, coach Bernardinho's team faces fifth-place Sesi Bauru this Friday (November 22.11) at 21:30 p.m. at Tijuca Tênis Clube, with live coverage on SporTV2. Blocking has been a key differentiator for Rubro-Negro in the Superliga. Despite a negative result against leaders Dentil Praia Clube in the tiebreak last Tuesday (November 18.11), the Rio de Janeiro team left the court with an impressive 20 points in the fundamental. And, according to the competition's official statistics, middle blockers Lorena and Juju share the overall lead in this category, with 30 hits each.

"Blocking is something we've been working on a lot, and fortunately, it's paying off. But everything is a collective effort, and we know we still need more clarity in decisive moments. We're going into another tough game against Sesi Bauru, and we have to serve well and try to make their lives difficult to benefit our blocking, since Dani Lins has a lot of speed with the pass in her hand," said Juju.

In addition to the middle blockers' outstanding numbers, setter Brie remains the top server (10 aces). Libero Laís tops the list of top passers (67,68% efficiency), with outside hitter Michelle in sixth (61,79%). Opposite hitter Edinara is the competition's second-highest scorer with 123 aces, followed by Lorena in third with 111.

Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the national competition in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).

The 2024/2025 Superliga brings together 12 teams, which face each other in a home and away match, and the top eight advance to the playoffs.
