Sesc RJ Flamengo has a goal in mind for its next challenge in the Women's Superliga. Coach Bernardinho's team wants to confirm another step in its team's evolution this Friday (January 30th) at 30.01:18 PM, against Tijuca Tênis Clube, at the Tijuca gymnasium, with live broadcast on SporTV2 and VBTV. Leading the championship with 40 points, Flamengo hopes to once again implement the collective play that worked so well in the derby against Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde last Tuesday (January 27.01th). The players know they need to be wary of the opponent's dangers, who, despite occupying 11th place with 11 points, are coming off two consecutive wins.
"Tijuca is a team that demands a lot of attention from us, and we are studying this opponent carefully. It's a team that has grown in the second half of the season, has a mix of young and experienced athletes, and will enter the court aiming to take risks. We are getting stronger day by day. We are leaders, and the victory over Osasco gave us even more confidence, but Bernardo always advises us not to let our guard down, regardless of the standings. Sesc RJ Flamengo has some standout individual players in the Superliga statistics. American outside hitter Simone Lee is the competition's top scorer with 300 points and is the second-highest scorer in serves, with 16 aces. Outside hitter Karina has the seventh-best reception, with 61,9% efficiency, while Lorena is 12th in blocking, with 36 points.
Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the national competition in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).
The 2025/2026 Superliga features 12 teams, which will face each other in a home-and-away format. The quarterfinals will feature the top eight teams from the qualifying phase in a best-of-three playoff. The semifinals will also be best-of-three, while the final will be a single-game series.
