In search of the top spot in the Women's Superliga standings, Sesc RJ Flamengo returns to the court this Friday (15.11), at 21:30 pm, for the classic against Fluminense, at Hebraica, with live broadcast on SporTV2, for the fifth round. In second place, with 15 points - the same mark as leader Praia Clube -, coach Bernardinho's team wants to confirm its good moment and fight for the fifth consecutive victory.

The red-and-black team is on a positive run in the competition, with victories over Paulistano Barueri, Osasco, Pinheiros, and the current champion Minas, all by 3 sets to 1. Increasingly close, the squad values ​​the wisdom to deal with adversity and focuses on maintaining the search for growth.

"The group's unity is getting stronger and stronger. It's very important that we keep our heads on straight. In difficult moments, we get together and talk about what we should do, remembering Bernardo's instructions and the marking we studied. This helped a lot. We were happy with the last result, but we're already fully focused on Fluminense," said opposite hitter Edinara, one of the standout players in the victory over Minas, with 18 goals.

Facing Fluminense, who are in sixth place in the Superliga, Sesc RJ Flamengo know that they will need to be consistent in their reception and serving.

"They'll come at us with everything, but so will we. We have to be very clear in our passing. When we're efficient in this fundamental, the game flows and Brie can play very well, which makes life easier for all the attackers. And we'll have to serve very well too," Edinara added.

Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the national competition in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).

The 2024/2025 Superliga brings together 12 teams, which face each other in a home and away match, and the top eight advance to the playoffs.
