Sesc RJ Flamengo defeats Batavo Mackenzie and takes the lead in the Superliga playoffs.
Bernardinho's team has had ups and downs, but wins the first quarter-final match 3-1 in Belo Horizonte, and is one win away from the semi-finals.

Sesc RJ Flamengo took the lead in the quarterfinals of the Women's Superliga. This Tuesday (March 31.03st), coach Bernardinho's team experienced highs and lows, but overcame Batavo Mackenzie 3 sets to 1, with scores of 25-23, 25-18, 22-25 and 25-16, at the Mackenzie gymnasium in Belo Horizonte, and is one win away from qualifying for the semifinals. The teams will face each other again this Friday (April 03.04rd) at 18:30 pm, at Maracanãzinho, and tickets are on sale through the Guichê Web website.
Faced with pressure from the opposing fans, Flamengo struggled and took time to impose their rhythm. Even so, they opened up a 2-0 lead. In the third set, the Rio team couldn't withstand the momentum of the Minas Gerais team. But the unity of the players and Bernardinho's good substitutions, especially with the entry of outside hitter Helena in the second set, were essential for the positive result.
American outside hitter Simone Lee was the top scorer of the match with 23 points, followed by opposite hitter Tainara with 15. Helena, who, like middle blocker Lorena, scored 13 times, celebrated her good performance and mental strength to maintain concentration until the end. The 21-year-old received the VivaVôlei Trophy for best player of the match.
"It was great to have helped the team achieve this victory. The fans put on the pressure, and that's part of the game. I tried to shield my mind and managed to stay focused on the match. Our team had some ups and downs, and we will work on those points for the second game, with total focus on qualifying for the semi-finals," said Helena.
