Sesc RJ Flamengo achieved a great result in the Women's Superliga. This Friday (21.02), coach Bernardinho's team put on a show of tactical application to overcome Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde, its biggest rival, by 3 sets to 0, partial scores of 25/19, 25/20 and 25/15, making the Red-Black Nation happy, who set the Maracanãzinho on fire.
With the victory, the Rio de Janeiro team reached 36 points and jumped to fifth place in the standings, one point ahead of Fluminense. Furthermore, the gap to Osasco is now just two points.
The serve was crucial for the home team, undermining the defending Copa Brasil champion's strengths. This allowed the block to sink in and make life difficult for their opponents.
In the individual scoring, the homogeneous distribution of the setter Brie was evident: Karina and Juju were the highest scorers, with 10 hits each, followed by Edinara and Helena, with nine.
Libero Laís excelled at the baseline, thrilling the crowd with her powerful saves, and taking home the VivaVôlei Trophy for best on court. She emphasized the importance of keeping a level head even after two consecutive negative results and of strictly following the agreed-upon tactical plan.
"We're coming off two losses, but the work hasn't stopped. Today, we managed to get our systems working and get the ball rolling in the right way, so we're very happy. The Superliga is long, and the results are coming at the right time. We knew it was a derby, so we came out with our best performance possible, wanting to put on a great game for the fans and for ourselves. And we came away with a great victory. I think now we need to try to repeat a little of what we did here, with each team doing their best, as we head into the most important moment of the championship. We'll go all out to put in the best performances possible," said Laís.
Sesc RJ Flamengo's next challenge is against bottom-placed Abel Moda Vôlei, next Wednesday (26.02), at 18 pm, at Arena Brusque, in Santa Catarina.
