Sesc RJ Flamengo defeats Fluminense and secures home court in the final of the Campeonato Carioca

Sesc RJ Flamengo finished the first phase of the Campeonato Carioca in first place after beating Fluminense this Thursday (10/9), 3 sets to 1, with partial scores of 25-17, 25-12, 19-25 and 25-21, at Hebraica. With the victory, the third in the state championship, coach Bernardinho's team reached nine points, surpassed Tricolor, which has seven, and won home court advantage in the final against the same rival. The classic for the trophy takes place on Monday (10/13), at 8:30 pm, at Tijuca Tênis Clube, with broadcast on SporTV2.
Opposite Tainara had a strong performance, leading the Red-and-Black victory with a strong offensive force, especially in the fourth set. She left the court as the match's top scorer with 22 hits, followed by outside hitters Simone Lee and Karina, with 20 and 16, respectively. The attacker celebrated the team's strengthening identity.
"We're happy to win the derby against Fluminense and bring the final to our home. But the most important thing is to focus on the team's growth, on what we're achieving in terms of our goals, and on following the coaching staff's instructions. This match was crucial for our confidence and strengthening our identity. Of course, we still have our ups and downs. In the third set, we made a lot of mistakes. But after that, we imposed our rhythm and we're going into this final with the fans and everything in our favor," said Tainara.
In the Campeonato Carioca, which also featured Tijuca Tênis Clube, the three participants faced each other in a round-robin format, and the top two teams will compete for the cup.
