Sesc RJ Flamengo thrilled its passionate fans on Friday night (November 28th) by overcoming Gerdau Minas in a thrilling Superliga Feminina match, decided only in the tie-break: 20-25, 28.11-26, 15-25, 25-18 and 15-8. After trailing 2-1, coach Bernardinho's team showed grit and determination to achieve their seventh victory and are now the only undefeated team in the competition.

The result earned Flamengo two points in the league standings, keeping them in second place, but now only one point behind their Minas Gerais rivals: 21 to 20. Furthermore, it confirmed the team's strength in overcoming difficulties with composure and strategy.

American outside hitter Simone Lee was the top scorer of the match, with 25 points, and took home her third VivaVôlei Trophy for best player on the court in the Superliga. She, who was rested for the victory over Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde due to discomfort in her left foot, was delighted by the energy in the stands at the temple of world volleyball.

"The fans also helped us win this game, which was incredible. At no point did they stop sending us energy, they never stopped supporting us, even during the difficult times. That was truly special. Gerdau Minas is obviously a great team, and it's so important to face games like this, where we were at our limit and saw that the result was possible. And, of course, we knew there was room for improvement during the game. So, it's great to see that we're fighting for every ball and the fans are with us," said Simone Lee.

Sesc RJ Flamengo's next match is next Friday (December 05.12th) at 21 pm, against Sesi Vôlei Bauru, away from home.
