Sesc RJ Flamengo remains undefeated in the Women's Superliga and is the new runner-up in the competition. This Monday (November 24.11th), coach Bernardinho's team dominated Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde in the biggest classic of Brazilian volleyball, winning 3-0, with scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-17, at José Liberatti, in Osasco (SP). With six wins and 18 points in the standings, the Rubro-Negro surpassed its rival and closed the gap to the leader Gerdau Minas, which has 20.

Sesc RJ Flamengo took to the court with an aggressive approach, which was especially reflected in their serve: they had seven aces in the match, in addition to several instances where Osasco's reception was broken. 

Outside hitter Helena started in the starting lineup in place of American Simone Lee, who was rested after feeling discomfort in her left Achilles tendon, and stole the show. The game's top scorer with 13 points, she seized the opportunity and was awarded the VivaVôlei Trophy for best player on the court.

"It was a very important game for me. Simone is the mainstay of our team, but I knew I was capable of doing this, after all I train every day. I'm very happy with the result. Winning against Osasco 3-0 at their home is a very difficult task, but the whole team managed it, not just me. The girls and the coaching staff gave me a lot of confidence and I played lightly. Now, it's time to move on, because we have another difficult game ahead," said Helena.

Besides the outside hitter, the team had a solid performance, with all the attackers reaching double digits in scoring. Middle blockers Lorena and Masa Kirov scored 11, and outside hitter Karina and opposite hitter Tainara scored 10.

Flamengo returns to play in front of its fans this Friday (November 28.11th) at 21 PM, in another clash of undefeated teams, this time against league leaders Gerdau Minas, at Maracanãzinho. Tickets are on sale at the Guichê Web website.
