Sesc RJ Flamengo will decide another title in the Campeonato Carioca. This Monday (October 07.10th), coach Bernardinho's team defeated Tijuca Tênis Clube 3-0, with scores of 25-14, 25-8, and 25-22, in Tijuca, and secured a spot in the state championship final with one round to spare. The challenge for the trophy will be against Fluminense.
In preparation for the Superliga, Sesc RJ Flamengo took to the court at full strength and dictated the pace of the first two sets, with excellent serving and attacking. In the third set, Bernardinho took advantage of the opportunity to rotate the squad, and Tijuca imposed more challenges, but the red-and-blacks held their nerve in the decisive moments to close out the match in straight sets.
"It was a game of patience and build-up play. It's important that everyone plays at some point, and everyone who came on gave their best. In the next game, I think we'll be even better prepared. I think we were a little slack in our defense at the beginning. The attack came out well and we were imposing, despite having a few blocks later. We also had good sequences on the serve," analyzed middle blocker Lorena.
Already qualified for the Carioca final, Sesc RJ Flamengo returns to the court this Wednesday (09.10/19), at 14.10 pm, against Fluminense, at Tijuca Tênis Clube, for the second round. Tickets for the first Fla-Flu of the season can be purchased through the Guichê Web website. The teams will face each other in the final on Monday (19/XNUMX), at XNUMX pm, in Volta Redonda.
