Sesc RJ Flamengo won their last away game in the Superliga qualifying phase in a comfortable fashion. This Thursday (March 19.03th), coach Bernardinho's team defeated bottom-placed Renasce Sorocaba 3-0, with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, and 25-17, at the Geraldão gymnasium in Recife. With this result, Flamengo will sleep in the lead of the competition and will be hoping for a loss by Gerdau Minas, who had started the round at the top.

With great joy and enthusiasm, the Rio de Janeiro team delivered a solid performance, reaching 52 points compared to 50 for their Minas Gerais rivals. Despite their opponent's precarious position in the standings, Sesc RJ Flamengo entered all three sets aggressively and gave them no chances. 

Opposite hitter Tainara, the game's top scorer with 16 points, tied with outside hitter Simone Lee, received the VivaVôlei Trophy for best player on the court and highlighted the team's good performance.

"I'm very pleased when my performance contributes to the team, but today this trophy could have gone to anyone. Masa and Vivi played very well. I'm very happy to be back in Recife, a very warm and welcoming place. This game was very important. We never thought it would be easy, because in the first round we had a lot of trouble beating Sorocaba. Today, we managed to put our purpose of playing happily and freely into practice on the court," assessed Tainara.

The red-and-black team concludes the qualifying phase next Tuesday (March 24.03th), at 21 pm, against Batavo Mackenzie, at Maracanãzinho.
