You arrived at the airport straight to Gávea. What was your arrival like?
"Well, my arrival was good. The trip was a bit long because I went from New York to Miami and from Miami to here. So far so good, we've already resolved some document issues and now I'm here watching the training and I've already been able to talk to some players I know, like (Franco) Balbi, Leron (Black) and (Zach) Graham."
What do you know about Flamengo?
"I know a little because Ronald Ramon spoke very highly of the club, and David Cubillan too, because I played for them. They gave me good references about the club. I believe it will be a very good season."
You had already played with some athletes from our squad, right?
"Yes, against Leron Black in Argentina and I also played with Balbi in Argentina"
How do you see yourself in the current red-and-black squad and how do you think you can contribute positively to the team this season?
"This will be a new experience for me, a new league, a new team and I'm getting to know the coach's game system, but I believe that with the experience I have I just need to understand what the coach wants me to do and help the team win the games"
This season, Flamengo has two major goals: the Champions League and the NBB. What are your expectations for representing Flamengo in both?
"As everyone knows, the Champions League is a very strong competition, with good teams from different countries. I was seeing that the NBB also has many good teams, like Franca and Mogi, so the expectations are the best possible.
What can you say about the work done by coach Gustavo De Conti at Flamengo?
"One of my former teammates told me a little about him, one of the ones I played with in Argentina. He spoke very highly of his work."
Eloy Vargas is undergoing tests at CUIDAR this Tuesday, and will join the FlaBasquete squad for physical and court training on Wednesday (20). The athlete is available to coach Gustavo De Conti and can now be included in the Rubro-Negro's matches in the NBB.
