On November 30th, in Chile, the Brazilian U-17 basketball team defeated Argentina by just one point, with a final score of 98-97, and won the South American title. Leading the team was Fernando Pereira, the assistant coach of the Brazilian adult basketball team. Fernandinho recalls the title:

"It was a great honor to represent our country and Brazilian basketball. Specifically, the South American tournament was unforgettable and challenging, because in addition to securing a spot in the U-18 Copa América next year, we accomplished our greatest mission, which was to win the title. I believe this is the result of the work of the talented athletes, who were united, committed, and persevering, and of the excellent coaching staff, who were competent, dedicated, and loyal," he celebrates. 

In addition to remembering the competition, which he won undefeated, Fernandinho took the opportunity to thank everyone who supported him during the campaign. 

"I would like to thank the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB) for their complete trust, encouragement, and support, and Diego Jeleilate, Gustavo De Conti, and everyone involved in Flamengo's Olympic Sports for their full support and permission for me to join the team. Now it's time to fully focus on Flamengo basketball, as we have a lot of work and big goals ahead of us," concludes the CRF adult basketball assistant coach.
