Mengão women's soccer team will play three friendlies in Spain
Girls from Gávea will face Madrid CFF, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad on European soil; Trip will be this Sunday (6)

On Sunday night (6), taking advantage of the World Cup break, the Meninas da Gávea will go to Spain and, there, they will have three friendlies against local teams: Madrid CFF, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.
The trip was previewed by Vice President Vitor Zanelli during his participation in FlaTV's exclusive roundtable discussion. The main objective is to foster the internationalization of the Flamengo brand abroad, as well as the exchange of cultures and ideas, showcasing a new chapter in the project, which has investment and support from major brands.
This is another step in the club's plan to further develop the sport. Since 2019, the Rubro-Negro has been evolving year after year, always respecting its goals and, most importantly, its budget. Going to Europe for the first time highlights the club's goal of keeping its athletes at a high competitive level and seeking alternatives to fill the season. It's worth noting that the club has competed in the Brazilian Super Cup, Copa Rio, and Brasileirão so far and will also compete in the Carioca and the Ladies Cup, the tournament in which it is the current champion.
"Our focus is always on bringing new things to Flamengo's women's soccer project. We're constantly working on improvements and providing new experiences for the athletes and the club. This trip to Spain also aims to internationalize the brand within the sport. We'd already received some invitations, but they didn't fit in with the schedule, but fortunately this time it worked out. Our plan, even looking ahead to the next few years, is to always have a trip like this during the season," stated Zanelli.
Recently, the Most Beloved agreed to hire coach Maurício Salgado, which debuted with a victory against Colo-Colo, 3-1, in Gávea.
