After confirmation of Celso Silva as coach, the U-20 team returned this Wednesday (26). At CEFAN, the players participated in a meeting with the entire technical committee, were introduced to the new commander and ran on the pitch. Now, as part of the pre-season planning, they will undergo physical tests and evaluations in the coming days.

With the CBF's new competition organization, the category will no longer be U-18 for the first time since its creation in 2019. The change didn't impact the club's squad because most of the players were born between 2003 and 2004, so many familiar faces will remain. This is the case with forward Mariana Fernandes, the team's captain and standout performer last year.

"We were very anxious to return. This reappearance, talking about the new projects and goals we have for the season, gives us a lot of confidence. I believe we're on the right track to evolve and win titles. The planning is being well-managed by the committee, and this gives the team complete confidence. Now, we athletes have to work daily. We need to focus on the upcoming championships," he analyzed. 

In 2022, the squad will initially face the Brazilian Championship and the State Championship.
