The Meninas da Gávea started the Brazilian Championship with a draw, in the duel against Minas Brasília, on Sunday afternoon (18), in Gávea. With a goal from Jayanne, the score closed at 1 to 1, in a very balanced game and disputed until the last moments.

The game
Just two minutes into the match, Jayanne had an incredible chance, chipping the ball over the goalkeeper but shooting wide. The match remained tightly contested in midfield, with no further clear-cut chances for either side until the 46th minute of the first half, when an opponent's shot hit the post—but the linesman had already signaled offside.

In the second half, two goals were scored in the opening five minutes. Shortly after Jayanne chipped the ball over the red-and-blacks, Minas Brasília equalized, giving the final score a 1-1 draw.

Escalation
Kaka; Raquel (Samhia), Cida, Stella and Sorriso; Kaylane, Bruna Rosa (Renata), Dedê and Jayanne; Rafa Barros (Lodi) and Flávia (Dani Ortolan)

And now?
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Thursday (22), against Napoli-SC, away from home, at the Carlos Neves stadium, for the Brasileirão.

The competition's format this year is the same as in 2020: all 16 clubs face each other in a single round, with the top eight advancing. The knockout stage will feature home-and-away matches. After a scheduled break in July for the Tokyo Olympics, the decisive stage begins in August. The grand finale has already been set for September 12th and 26th.
