Flamengo concludes its participation in the Nike Premier Cup U-17 with a 4-0 victory over Fluminense

The Mais Querido's first-ever appearance in U-17 competitions ended this Friday morning with a spectacular victory over Fluminense. Dominating Flamengo, they gave their opponent no chance, winning 4-0. The standout performer was Kaylane Júnior, who scored three goals. The midfielder, recently called up to the U-20 national team, received the MVP award. Maria Peck completed the scoring.

With this result, the club finished fifth overall in the Nike Premier Cup. Before winning today, Sergio Carnevale's team drew with Grêmio (1-1), lost to Corinthians in a game decided in stoppage time (3-2), and beat Vasco (1-0). Their record in classic matches was 100%. It's worth noting that in three of the four matches, a red-and-black athlete was named standout (captain Mariana Fernandes shone twice).

"This championship is crucial for the development of the sport nationally, and the club gave us the perfect conditions to participate and compete. The squad remained focused and determined at all times, and that makes me happy. I consider our performance positive. We won both derbies, scoring five goals and conceding none, so it reflects our current situation regionally. Today, in Rio de Janeiro, the red-and-black youth academy is a reality," the coach analyzed.

Performance shows that the work is constantly evolving. This season, several players were promoted to the professional team, a key objective. In addition to recurring call-ups, such as the trio called on Tuesday.

"We formed the U-17 team practically in 2021, and it's just the beginning. Our youth development work is growing, and we want to develop these girls well so that they can soon join the adult team. We continue with the motto, 'Flamengo makes the best at home,'" emphasized Vitor Zanelli, Vice President of Women's Soccer, Youth, and Futsal.

As soon as they return to Rio, the group will report back to CEFAN and join the older girls who were training above. Now, the focus is completely on the debut of the Under-18 State Championship, next Wednesday (17), against Fluminense, at home.
