Flamengo's Flavia Saraiva achieved a great result on Thursday afternoon (10) in Stuttgart, Germany. At the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, Flavinha finished seventh in the individual all-around, one place above her eighth-place finish in 2018. It was Brazil's best position in the competition in the last 12 years. 

The red-and-black athlete completed all the apparatus and, with strong performances especially on the beam and floor, earned a score of 55,732, just seven-tenths of a spot off the podium. On the beam, she finished with the third-best score of the day (14,033), and fourth-best on the floor (13,933). Flavinha's vault scored 14,666 points, and her uneven-equal routine, 13,300.

Last Saturday (05), Flavia had already secured a place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, when she finished 10th in the Individual All-Around qualifying round, with 54.932 points. She was the only Brazilian athlete to qualify for the Olympics, as the national team, which finished 14th, failed to qualify for the team event. Three spots will still be determined by the final rankings of next year's Individual All-Around World Cup, while two will come from the Pan American Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Flavia Saraiva returns to compete in the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships next Sunday (13). The athlete will compete in the final on the balance beam and floor, starting at 8 am.
